Andrew Krystopolski, B.M., Minister of Music


 

Andrew Krystopolski was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware.  He began studying violin at age five at the Wilmington Music School.  Shortly thereafter, he began to study piano, both classical and jazz, from various teachers in the greater Wilmington area.  While attending Salesianum High School, Andrew began formal organ studies with Joseph Scutti at St. Mary Magdalene Roman Catholic Church in Wilmington.

  In 2005 he graduated from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Church Music, studying organ with Mark Lauback and conducting with Robert Herrema.  While at Marywood, he was tenor section leader of the Campus Choir and first tenor in the Chamber Singers, performing with the latter group during their May 2004 tour of Prague, Vienna, and Bratislava.  While a student, Andrew served as organist at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Bernadette in Canadensis, PA for three years.  In his senior year, he was the church music intern at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral in Wilkes-Barre and at Immanuel Episcopal Church (Highlands) in Wilmington, Delaware where his mentor was Jack Warren Burnam. 

Andrew Currently serves as Organist and Choirmaster at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Essex Fells, New Jersey, and has directed massed choirs for diocesan liturgies in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark.  He teaches piano and organ privately and has perfoemed widely throughout the Mid-Atlantic region on jazz piano, accordion, and concertina.  Andrew is a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), the Association of Anglican Musicians (AAM), and The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
